Great Ocean Road

Yesterday was amazing! We left Apollo Bay around 2ish with a tour bus/van group (autopia). Our first stop was this Rainforest Park walk (had the canopy and the whole bit). The guide guy led us through this 20min walk, told about the vegetation and stuff. It was neat because you felt like you were in a different world.

We all boarded the happy bus after and drove for an hour to the 12 apostles (I read the whole way :)). The first lookout point we stopped at had helicopter tours of the coastline. I took my first ride in a helicopter! (like Tow-mater :)) It was so cool...I especially liked it when the pilot banked hard to the left (kinda freaky, not at all like a plane). So we got a sweet view of all the apostles (those remaining) and lots of pic's. Yay!

The second lookout point was by "The Razorback" rock (the guide was telling us what a razorback was but I already knew from watching Rescuers down under :)). The third lookout point was "London Bridge." The guide told us about the day when the "bridge" collasped. A couple were walking across it, noticed that some cracked rock bits near the sides. Once they crossed it and reached the other side (off the mainland), the bridge collasped leaving them stranded out there until help arrived. Crazy!

Our guide was a pretty funny guy. Told lots of stories (some made-up) and jokes, honked at people on the street on our way back into Melbourne.

Actually on our way back into Melbourne there was a huge firework show going on. It was a great way to the end the day. Now I'm staying at the YHA Metro Melbourne for a couple days.
